SPOILER ALERT!

Entranced

Entranced - Nora Roberts Entranced is an engaging story about a psychic and a cynic. Yes, the psychic being Sebastian Donovan, Morgana’s cousin. Sebastian uses his powers of “seeing”, to help cops solve twisted cases.

On the other hand, Mel Sutherland is a private investigator whose friend’s child is missing. She tries everything she could to get some clues about the kidnapper but like the cops, hits a dead end. Tired of waiting for her police to find her son, Rose enquires about Sebastian’s powers and then convinces Mel to take her to him. Being a cynic, Mel tries to stop Rose but ultimately gives in to the idea and meets Sebastian.

Accepting the fact that Sebastian might be her only chance to find Rose’s son, Mel starts investigating with Sebastian and makes him her temp. partner. She ends up falling in love with Sebastian and accepting the fact that there are some things beyond logic and reason and comes to accept and respect Sebastian’s gifts.

The story is predictable, but is adorably romantic. The characters in the book are full of life and you can instantly connected to them. Also we get a sneak peek in the lives of Morgana (who is pregnant at the time) and Nash Kirkland from Captivated, which really makes you feel like you are a part of the Donovan family.

Captivated

Captivated - Nora Roberts Captivated is one of those rare books that you can enjoy without using even a tiny cell of your brain ( and I mean it in a good way!) The story progresses easily and even though the outline is way too predictable, the writing keeps one engaged. I read this book in 2 days, just cause I was being lazy. You can finish it in a day very easily. It’s a great break from mind-bending thrillers and complicated love stories.
It might seem strange but it really made me feel that the world is really a good place to live in. And I, for one, really believe in magic and stuff, so it was very much like a fairy tale for me and I enjoyed it a lot.
The love of Morgana and Nash really felt pure and will somehow make you believe that love is really a magical thing and can really really change a person!
I will recommend Captivated to any reader who’s tired of whatever they are reading and need a quick break to relax.

Memories of Midnight

Memories of Midnight - Sidney Sheldon Memories is a brilliant novel that keeps the juices of one’s mind flowing. It’s an ultimate page-turner. I love Sidney Sheldon’s books but this one is one of his best books. No matter how old the books are, or infact how many times you read them, they really keep you engaged!

This book is the sequel to The Other Side Of Midnight and rotates about Catherine (Larry Douglas’s wife). At the end of the first book she lost her memory and in this book, around a year later, she starts to regain it bit by bit. This poses a threat to Constantin Demiris and he decided to take one last revenge with Larry Douglas (even though he’s dead), by sexually exploiting his wife and then killing her. He waits for the right moment for this but other loose ends, regarding Noel’s and Larry’s cold-blooded murder by Costa, starts to come up and he gets busy planning quite a few murders.

Some new characters are also introduced and they play a major role in the downfall of Costa. This book familiarises the reader with the life of our beloved Constantin Demiris (past and present) and how he pays for all he does.

Catherine meanwhile remains the main focus of the book and also the Costa’s target. After The death of Kirk Reynold’s (a co-worker whom she dates) in an skiing accident and two lawyer’s random deaths (involved in Larry’s trial) , she starts to feel that everyone around her die’s and goes in depression. Then she visits a psychiatrist named Alan, who actually plays a small part of our hero.

The end is predictable but the way it is written is just amazing. You’ll definitely not be able to leave the book even for a second in the last 50 pages! Atleast I wasn’t able to. The end of Costa was quite unimaginable!

I would definitely recommend it to everyone who hasn’t already read it, especially to those who love thriller and mystery.

Let the dogs out

Let the dogs out - Violet's Vegan Comics Let The Dogs Out is one of those rare books that touch your soul and leave you thinking for a long time. It’s a tremendous graphic novel unmasking the bitter realities about the research labs and their misbehaviour towards dogs (or you can say tortures done to them.)

The simple fact that it’s written from the point of view of a dog is so very heart-touching, enabling the reader to feel everything he is going through and it really leaves your heart aching! This book is really what we need today in order to know what really happens in the real world. It has made me take some steps against use of dogs and also other animals for research purposes.

Also, after reading the book you’ll be aware of some facts that are very important, like for one, animal research is not really a need. It can very well be avoided and can even be stopped. I appreciate Violet’s efforts.

Please go ahead and get the book as it’s really thought provoking and if you have kids (teens), trust me, you really don’t want to miss it. Being a graphic novel it’s great for kids 12 years and above (though not below this age due to upsetting images of animal experimentation.)

I’m going to buy one for my brother. I hope you will too!

Daring to Dream

Daring to Dream - Nora Roberts I absolutely loved the book and most of all Margo (the main character). After reading just a few pages, I realised that I’ve already developed a bond with her and the other 2 female leads (Laura and Kate), which will lead me effortlessly and happily through the rest of the series.
Daring To Dream is about Margo’s journey, going though life-changing ups and downs and how she emerges out of everything stronger and more confident than ever. She takes life head-on and faces the worst situations with a lot of courage.
In this adventurous journey, Laura and Kate play a very important role and reminds the reader that true friendships never die. It’s a classic tale of loyalty, family-love, truest of friendships and passionate love. It’s all a reader like me can ask for!
I wanted to give it 5-star rating but I cut down on 1 star just because of Joshua (Margo’s lover). He seemed a bit too desperate at times. It left me wondering whether I’m reading a cont. romance or erotica!
Well other than that, I loved the book from start to end and I’ve already got the next book and I’m really looking forward to reading it.

The Longest Ride

The Longest Ride - Nicholas Sparks I absolutely fell in love with this book since I issued it. Right from the cover of the book to the last page, it will keep you engrossed. It really didn’t let me sleep peacefully as the entire time I was concerned about what’s going to happen to Ira.

The letters that Ira wrote for Ruth were so emotional that despite my efforts of controlling my emotions, but I gave in when I read the last letter that Sophia reads out to him. The way its written will surely make you feel the undying love that Ira felt for Ruth. Also the letter that Ruth wrote to Ira before she died was very emotional. I loved both the stories equally and also the end. It was a happy ending in true sense.

The Longest Ride has a a lot of meanings in respect to the book, but for me The Longest Ride for Ira was his life as he happens to mention and for Luke it was riding Big Ugly Critter.

I especially love this book because it really made me wonder that after living such a happy life together with your spouse, in the end when one out of the two of you remains, how painful it would be and trust me even after dying, I guess, you really can’t be at peace seeing your other half struggle!

The Lost Symbol

The Lost Symbol - Dan Brown I would like to begin with a warning that this book is indeed a lengthy read! I love Dan Brown’s books but sadly this one was way too predictable. First of all as soon as Langdon got a call from his friend’s guy it was pretty obvious that someone’s playing around (something like Inferno) and also when Mal’akh repeatedly refers to Peter Solomon’s son, blaming him for his death and all, clearly gives the idea that Mal’akh was indeed Zachary Solomon. The last hundred pages were a real pain! I wish I wouldn’t have read them cauz it was just a waste of time! Who cares wtf was the lost symbol after reading 400 pages and then realising that it’s just a word or whatever!

I wanted to rate this book 2-stars but the knowledge of Noetic Science and also bits about Masons earned this book an extra star from me! Read it if you want to complete the Robert Langdon Series but if you don’t care about the series then my advice would be to leave it unread.

The Body in the Library

The Body in the Library - Agatha Christie After reading 4:50 from Paddington, I was expecting much more from this one, but unfortunately this book was not as good as that. It was a quick read and I guess that was the only good thing about it. I am now a bit worried about reading the other books of Miss Marple Series.
Won’t recommend it to anyone. Just a waste of time!

The Innocent

The Innocent - Harlan Coben My second Harlan Coben book and I really regret to have stayed away from his books for so long! This book is all you need. Loved the writing style and the fact that the ending was good (unlike Woods). You can definitely read it but be prepared for a heavy dose of suspense!

The Magic

The Magic - Rhonda Byrne Life changing!

Inferno

Inferno - Dan Brown Frankly the creepy face on the cover of the book haunted me throughout the book and obviously discussion of Dante’s Inferno and the stuff about hell and Satan scared me to death. But that’s the reason I am giving this book 5 starts because it was just spectacular.

I love reading it from the first page and it got impossible for me to leave the book even for a second. I am very glad I got a chance to read it in one go. I recommend it to people who really love fact fiction and can handle a different psychology altogether.
